Bangkok has vintage markets that sell the idea of vintage, with prices to match. Pattavikorn isn’t one of them. It’s a second-hand market on Nawamin Road where the clothes are piled up, the prices are low, and it’s mostly locals doing the digging.
What you’ll find
Second-hand clothes, mostly, in every style and condition. There’s a sneaker section worth going through slowly, and real vintage pieces turn up if you’re patient. It’s cheap enough that you can take a chance on things.
How to thrift it
- Bring cash, in small notes
- Check seams, zips, collars and soles before you pay. It’s second-hand, and nobody is checking for you
- Know your size in Asian sizing, or bring a tape measure
- If you’re buying several things from one stall, ask for a price on the lot
- Bring your own bag
